This anti-gun violence 5K is to raise awareness to and help bring solutions to the current state of peaked gun violence here in Washington, DC. Our goal is to have a day full of peace from the runners, the community, the stakeholders and all of Washington, DC. Run For A Better Life will provide Run Hope Work the opportunity to continue to serve DC residents 20-24 young adult who are struggling with homelessness, are returning from the justice system, are runaways or are single parents. Run Hope Work specifically targets violent offenders, offenders with drug cases, and gang injunction cases. So let's Run For A Better Life.
Run Hope Work is excited to bring you our Run For A Better Life 5K. Racers will take on the fast, flat, out and back 5K course on the C&O Tow Path starting at Fletcher's Cove and initially running upstream. Run Hope work is a nonprofit organization that helps DC residents ages 20-24 who are returning from the justice system with gun charges and violent offenses. Each day they run as a group at 7am, have a mindful mediation moment and are then prepared for the workforce through workshops, training and building trades certifications.
